Getting involved is a great way to meet new people, explore passions, and make a difference on campus and in the Twin Cities community. Student Unions & Activities provides the tools and support to help groups thrive, from registering your club to managing finances, navigating policies, and developing your leadership skills. Whether you're starting something new or building on tradition, everything you need to lead and grow your student group starts here.
Student Group Advising
Groups often seek advising on a range of topics, including financial management and tax information, funding, elections, constitutions, event planning, organizational concerns, and more. Student groups can meet virtually or in person with a Student Group Services Advisor Mondays through Fridays between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm (Central Time). If a student needs to meet with an advisor outside those times, they are encouraged to contact their assigned Student Group Services Advisor directly to schedule an appointment in the evening.
Student groups may also visit the Student Group Resource Center (second floor of Coffman Memorial Union) for drop in advising on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 11:30 am - 12:30 pm.
All officers may now confirm their assigned Student Group Services Advisor by simply looking up their student group’s profile in GopherLink. The advisor’s name assigned to your group will appear in your student group’s category tags.

Meet Your Student Group Services Advisor
Linda Lee
Linda (She/Her) currently serves as the Student Group Services Advisor. She previously worked in the Graduate School Diversity Office as Coordinator for Recruitment and the Community of Scholars Program (COSP) and later as Coordinator for Transition & Retention, supporting graduate student access, community, and belonging for prospective and current students, as well as COSP-affiliated student groups.
Linda earned her Bachelor’s degree in Community Psychology with a minor in Ethnic Studies and her Master’s degree in College Counseling and Student Development from St. Cloud State University. During her time as a student, she held leadership roles, including serving as Treasurer for the Hmong Student Organization and co-founding the RISE of Hmong Women student group.
Outside of work, Linda enjoys exploring the outdoors through paddleboarding, hiking, camping, and road trips. She also loves listening to music across genres, including R&B, soul, country, alternative, cultural, and throwbacks.
Responsibilities
Linda’s main responsibilities at SUA include overseeing the student group Annual Registration and the Tony Diggs Excellence Awards. She will work with undergraduate, graduate, and professional groups, and groups with a focus on:
- Fraternities and Sororities
- Sports Club and Athletics
- Groups focused on medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, and public health
Linda’s experiences as a student leader have shown her how vital Student Group Services is in shaping confident, capable leaders. This lived experience fuels her commitment to advising and mentoring student groups and equipping them with the tools they need to thrive. Nate Duncan
Nate (He/Him/His) earned both a Bachelor's degree in Elective Studies and a Master’s degree in College Counseling and Student Development from Saint Cloud State University. Nate has a great passion for working with students navigating leadership and campus involvement, and focuses his work through the examination of power, privilege, and intersectionality. In addition to his work at the University, Nate also enjoys competitive swimming, playing board games and playing with his two cats. Nate also coaches swimming for 9-10 year olds with the Hurricanes Swim Team in Hopkins, MN.
In college, Nate was actively involved in Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity, Women’s Activist Organization, University Chamber Singers and was a member of the Saint Cloud State University Men’s Swim Team.

Nate’s main responsibilities at SUA include general advising, the Student Group Leadership Program, Student Group Training, and overseeing the Campus Elections. He will work with graduate and professional groups, as well as groups with a focus on:

Pachia Thao
Pachia (She/Her) attended the University of Minnesota where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and minors in Leadership and Racial Justice in Urban Schooling. After graduating in 2020, she worked in the Office of Admissions at the University for 3 years where she got to work with the incoming freshmen class of the College of Liberal Arts. That is where she found her love of working with students and having meaningful 1:1 conversations. As a Student Group Services Advisor, she is excited to continue to work with students and help foster a sense of belonging for all individuals on campus. In her free time she loves cooking, writing in her prayer journal, & going on walks with her dogs, Princeton and Bebe.

Pachia’s main responsibilities at SUA include overseeing the student group communications, general advising, and conduct. She will work with undergraduate, graduate, and professional groups and groups with a focus on:

As an alumnus of the University of Minnesota, Pachia is eager to continue supporting student organizations with her previous experience as an advisor and professional staff member. Marisol Rosado-Carrisalez
Marisol (She/Her/Ella) earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Community Action and minors in U.S. Cultural Studies and Theology at Whitworth University. She is passionate about leadership curriculum, interculturalism, and organizational development. She is a self-proclaimed foodie and a regular concert-goer.
In college, Marisol was involved in the Latino Student Union, Black Student Union, Students for Education Reform, Student Government, Hawaiian Club, and Act Six Leadership Program.

Marisol’s main responsibilities at Student Unions and Activities include overseeing the Student Group Team. In addition, she supports the second floor groups located in Coffman Memorial Union.
