Leadership Program

The Student Group Leadership Program focuses on capacity building in a student group context. Student group leaders will connect in synchronous and asynchronous spaces. This program will use a leadership lens to reflect on the strengths and the areas of improvement within a student group environment. Participants will develop technical and adaptive leadership skills through modules, exercises and connecting with each other.

Program Requirements

The Student Group Leadership Program serves both individual leaders participating and the groups they are part of. The format of the program requires that individuals participate in both asynchronous and synchronous sessions over the course of one semester.

Program Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be equipped to:

  • Develop relationships with other student group officers and leaders across campus
  • Apply individual and collective leadership techniques and skills
  • Identify their student group’s strengths and opportunities for building capacity
  • Describe their student group experience within other professional contexts

Program Incentives

The program incentives are organized into two categories, individual and group. Individuals who complete the program will receive:

  • A certificate of completion
  • A professional headshot
  • Priority registration for their group at either Explore U or the Fall Activities Fair.

Student groups with two or more participants who complete the program will be eligible to receive:
