Description
Student Utility Workers assist Maintenance staff with preventative maintenance and repairs in the facilities. Some of the duties performed are assemble/repair office furniture, change filters in ventilation units, mount pictures/bulletin boards and change light bulbs throughout the building.
Student Utility Workers work as part of the SUA Staff Maintenance team.
Requirements
- Current U of MN - Twin Cities degree-seeking student. See student employment eligibility
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor repairs, adjustments, and using hand tools.
- Must work from oral and written instructions given by supervisors
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience performing repairs and basic maintenance
- Computer skills, specifically working with MS Excel
Notes for This Posting
Shifts are available between 7am-3pm Monday-Friday. Experienced employees may pick up additional hours in the later afternoon and weekends.
The minimum shift length is 3 hours.
The successful application will be available 8 to 15 hours per week over the summer.
