Description

Student Utility Workers assist Maintenance staff with preventative maintenance and repairs in the facilities. Some of the duties performed are assemble/repair office furniture, change filters in ventilation units, mount pictures/bulletin boards and change light bulbs throughout the building.

Student Utility Workers work as part of the SUA Staff Maintenance team.

Requirements

  • Current U of MN - Twin Cities degree-seeking student. See student employment eligibility
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for minor repairs, adjustments, and using hand tools.
  • Must work from oral and written instructions given by supervisors

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performing repairs and basic maintenance
  • Computer skills, specifically working with MS Excel

Notes for This Posting

Shifts are available between 6:30am-2:30pm Monday-Friday for the first 3 months of employment. The minimum shift length is 3 hours with the minimum hours per week being 8 hours.

The hiring manager hopes to have position filled by mid September.
