Student Graphic Designers work within the SUA Marketing Department. Creativity is used to design posters, brochures, ads and other promotional materials for departments within Student Life.

Requirements

  • Current UMN-TC degree seeking student. See " Am I eligible for a student job" section in: student employment eligibility
  • Knowledge of Mac computer system.
  • Working knowledge of design programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Understanding of design principles
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work under tight time constraints

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passed College of Design's Graphic Design portfolio review
  • Has taken or is currently in Typography (or equivalent coursework)
  • Experience with a variety of design projects (i.e. logos, promotional campaigns, etc.)
  • Experience with motion graphics and/or video (Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, etc.)

The student designers are part of the Marketing team and are scheduled to work weekdays between 8am and 4:30pm.

The successful applicant will be available to start work from mid to late August and continue through the 2024-2025 academic year. We expect to offer this position by the end of this spring semester, 2024.

Undergraduate graphic design major applicants with sophomore - junior standing are preferred.

Restrictions

  1. You must be able to work for the Fall, Spring.
  2. You must be able to work 3 shifts per week.
  3. You must be able to work the following shift:
    • Sunday, 1:00 a.m. - Saturday, 3:00 a.m.
