  • Has some knowledge of Student Activities or some involvement experience on campus
  • At least one semester of experience (as employee or volunteer) with Student Activities at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities

Title: Student Activities Office Front Desk Student Manager

Level: Intermediate

The Student Front Desk Manager primarily provides assistance and oversight for all communication at the reception desk of the Student Activities Office. They manage questions via email and phone and ensure that all questions are being addressed. The office staff directs questions from student groups about our grants program, our program board and student group registration, and all other related programs and services. The Student Front Desk Manager serves as a leader to other front desk staff.

The department consider the Student Activities Office Student Front Desk Manager to be an intermediate level student position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 70% Overseeing general SAO email, mail and telephone communications. Assisting other student staff as needed to ensure timely customer service is provided
  • 20% Collaborating with advisors and fellow employees on various projects, as assigned
  • 10% Planning open house events
