  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision and show initiative, detail orientated, able to multitask and handle frequent interruptions
  • Ability to establish working relationships with people at all levels of the organization and requires a high level of professionalism
  • Knowledge of University Twin Cities campus
  • Able to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with confidential documents and related HR experience
  • Training and/or experience with PeopleSoft HRMS
  • Familiarity with Student Development Outcomes (SDOs)
  • Previous managing and supervising experience
  • Knowledge and/or experience of Student Unions & Activities and Office for Student Affairs

Essential Functions:

Senior Administrative Student Managers assist the full-time manager in the responsibilities and tasks necessary to successfully operate their respective location and manage a staff consisting of student Office Assistants. They are responsible for supervision, office management, and high-level administrative tasks. Much of their daily work is carried out without direct oversight; they must learn relevant University and departmental policies & procedures as well as specific computer programs needed to perform their duties. Senior Student Managers are expected to be proactive in conceptualizing, developing and implementing projects that will improve operations. Senior Student Managers must be available to be scheduled 12 to 20 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administrative duties: Maintenance of Admin/HR Google Drive materials and Student Employee and Full-time Staff Google Sites content, Assist with coordination of student employee communication/newsletter and reminders about related SUA related events (e.g. student employee recognition, student employee deadlines, marketing and student activities requests)
  • Supervision: Provide Admin front desk support; assist with recruiting process of office assistants, serve as initial point of contact and monitor day to day tasks and responsibilities of office assistants
  • Payroll: Assist with I-9 scheduling and processing for student employees, Update and monitor SUA student employee jobs posting on University site, audit student payroll and related timesheet verification, Assist with verification of staff time clock punches and MyU timesheet
  • Other duties/special projects as assigned
