We have several different positions available for students interested in joining the Student Program Board. Applications open in fall semester each year. We aim to have a Student Program Board that reflects the student body, including students from different colleges, backgrounds, and interests.
By joining the Student Program Board, students are given the opportunity to develop critical thinking, problem solving, leadership, professionalism, global and intercultural fluency, project and event management, budget management skills, as well as the Student Development Outcomes.

Student Program Board Coordinators are responsible for planning and executing the Program Board Events Showcase, Homecoming, and Spring Jam™. We have four student Coordinators, one of which specializes in marketing. The Coordinator positions are paid hourly and are a three semester commitment. Student Event Planning Coordinators focus on planning events, doing things like contract negotiations, communicating with vendors and campus partners, and researching market trends. Student Marketing Coordinators focus on promoting events, doing things like creating social media campaigns, organizing pop up promotional events, and creating and implementing marketing strategies.
Student Program Board Event Planners work on one of our four teams (Arts & Culture, Gamerooms, Music, and Social Events) to plan events on campus. The Event Planner position is paid via stipend and is a three semester commitment. Student Event Planners gain experience in contracting, market trend research, volunteer management, and professional communication.
The Street Team is a group of students that volunteer their time to promote and facilitate Student Unions & Activities events. Street Team members are compensated with perks including free food, Gopher Gold™, tickets to the Homecoming concert and Spring Jam™, and more.
