Student Audio-Visual Technicians (AV Techs) are a part of the Event Services Office providing technical support for a wide range of events, concerts, films, and conferences. Responsibilities include the set-up and operation of A/V equipment such as data projection, teleconferencing, microphones and speakers for concerts and lectures and general theatrical lighting. A/V Techs are required to attend weekly staff meetings and are scheduled primarily for evening and weekend shifts. Customer service is integral to this position.

The Student Union & Activites AV Techs are based at either Coffman Memorial Union or at the St Paul Student Center.

  • Great customer service attitude
  • Knowledge of, or strong interest in learning, audio/visual technologies and how they operate
  • Ability to be able to work independently (after initial training)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work additional hours when needed, particularly during evenings and weekends

Notes for This Posting

AV Techs are scheduled to work

  • Monday-Fridays, between 8am and 11pm,
  • Saturdays, between 11am and midnight


  1. You must be able to work for the Fall.
  2. You must be able to work 5-12 hours per week.
  3. You must be able to work 2 shifts per week.
