Essential Functions:

The HRD Internship provides leadership and consultation on the Student Unions & Activities (SUA) central training and development function. This position is responsible for working with the position supervisor to provide resources and opportunities for the development of student employees in all areas of the unions which include: Administration, Facilities, Finance, Marketing, Retail, and Student Activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

70% Student Employee Training & Development:

  • Plan and coordinate the online and in-person Employee Orientation training for new student employees to include online onboarding module and in-person Student Development Outcomes (SDO) Workshop.
  • Plan and coordinate logistics and communications for Weekly SDO Conversations.
  • Maintain and revise the student employee orientation to maintain consistency of presentation and meet the needs of SUA.
  • Assist with the coordination of the student Performance Development Process.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations for the further development of training sessions and programs for student employees.
  • Assist in coordinating and developing training resources for supervisors of employees and SUA student employees.

20% Student Employee Initiatives:

  • Explore new initiatives, technologies and resources that contribute to the effectiveness of training and development for student employees within SUA.
  • Collaborate with supervisor(s) to identify opportunities and strategies to maintain and improve student employee engagement.

10% Other duties as assigned:

  • Assist SUA HR with SUA and HR initiatives, recruitment and special projects as needed.
  • Collaborate with 5th floor Administrative Assistants on various projects.
  • Coordinate SUA decorating contests, student appreciation events, and student awards, as applicable.
