What about campus traditions? Will we have Homecoming?¶
Large events like the Homecoming parade and concert will not be held during Fall semester because the anticipated crowd size exceeds levels approved by the state of Minnesota. Homecoming activities will be offered either virtually, in person or both.
Will there be student activities for students to engage with in the Fall? Sports clubs, student organizations?¶
Student groups are still able to register and conduct events as long as they are in accordance with University and physical distancing guidelines. Student Unions & Activities recommends that student groups host virtual engagement options for members. RecWell Sport Clubs and Intramurals are working on plans for the fall under Minnesota Department of Health and University guidelines; the latest information will be posted online at recwell.umn.edu
Will facilities like the Recreation Center and Student Union be open and operational?¶
The student unions will be open and operating during Fall semester. Recreation and Wellness facilities on the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses will also be open and offering programming starting this summer.
