Searching Selfhood
Explore the journey of finding one’s identity through the works of Sara James and Sumayo Salah. Sara James relies on her unconsciousness, being present to the action on the canvas, and visual tools to make it. It leads her and makes her follow the work. With her, Sumaya Salah is a Somali American artist who enjoys creating stories based on real events, folktales and adds a bit of her culture into it. The two unite to create an exhibition that inspires others to embrace the journey of finding one’s self.
