Reception: The Natural and Surreal
Artists Don Luce, Lonnie Broden, and Ashlyn Boehme come together to showcase their work in an exhibition that provokes interpretation of human and natural themes. The Natural and Surreal runs from Jan. 25 through April 21. Join us for a reception on Jan. 25th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Luce aims to evoke a curiosity of the natural through elegant and visually stimulating paintings. He hopes to influence protection of these natural systems through the energy and excitement of nature depicted through his art. Broden uses various mediums to depict a place immersed in layers and scanned pallets. These pieces then engage an audience in interpretation through their own thoughts and feelings. Boehme, a senior at UMN-TC studying biology and art, uses her surrealist style to explore human vulnerability through nude figures and detailed landscapes. Her art dives into themes of human vulnerability, dissociation, loneliness and sexuality through color and form. All of these artists and their works combine to curate a space that encourages reflection and discussion.
Planned by Student Events and Entertainment.
