Lunch With Leaders: Andrea Forsht
After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Strategic Communications, I started my career as a teacher in Miami Dade County. I taught upper elementary for 3 years in 3 different Title 1 Schools. It was there that I started to better understand the relationship between private/public partnerships and after my third year of teaching, decided to pursue my master’s degree at Harvard University where I focused my work on the role of corporate philanthropy in social change movements, specifically education. I have spent the last 10 years of career working in this space. Everything from managing corporate grant and sponsorship portfolios to corporate volunteer programs. In the last 5 years, my scope has grown from being primarily externally facing to working more internally as well, standing up employee experience/engagement programs at companies like DentaQuest (Delta Dental of Massachusetts), Mimecast, and Thomson Reuters. I have a lot of experience building new initiatives and programs within organizations taking the same network theory used managing grant portfolios externally and bringing it in house to create change within organizations. In August, I was hired at Quick Base, a low-code software development company based in Cambridge, MA where I am now leading their Diversity, Inclusion and Social Impact Strategies.
