Larson Gallery: Dreams & Nightmares
Join us Thursday, October 20 at 5 PM for a reception for the art exhibit "Dreams & Nightmares" in Larson Gallery at the Saint Paul Student Center — attendees can have their tarot cards read for free!
Traverse through this space of imaginative portraits, figures, landscapes and sculptures that combine dreamscapes with reality. Some may be unsettling, some may be alluring; embrace the strangeness and enter an exhibit that brings you into new worlds. This exhibition is rich with talent, media, and complex ideas. Enjoy the fine watercolor work of Simone Traband, whose portraits convey emotional metamorphosis with abstract compositions. The chilling work of Kiaan Van Dusseldorp, who specializes in atmospheric landscapes that capture the environment with use of texture and flow. Take a dive into your psyche with Jane Powers’ work on a paradoxical future of curative and augmentative bio-medical advances and advances in mutilating weapons. Also of Max Paulin, whose work is aimed at utilizing the graphic qualities of line to evoke visceral emotion through grotesque imagery. And finally, a returning artist Corra Thompson, who allows you to imagine the natural world intermingling with our human world, showing the mirror of experiences between them.
Planned by Student Events and Entertainment.
