Dreaming of Mythos
Let the mysterious and fantastical steal you away in this stunning and surreal exhibition at the Coffman Gallery. Meet classical constructs, renaissance royals, and baroque beasts as you traverse ghostly gardens, peaceful ponds, and swirling shadows. Featured in this exhibition are the smoky elements of Bailey Larson’s canvas and flame, the delightful colors of Gretchen Pickering’s classical iconography, Jeff Musser’s elegant confrontation with racial identity and whiteness, and the curious worlds of Morgan Mercer - who invites the viewer to explore her paintings with childlike wonder. Alongside her are the delicate and imaginative figures of Peighton Cook, who explores topics of love, death, and grief through mythos and folklore. And finally, explore the ethereal dreamscapes of Roger Williamson, who seeks to revitalize mystery and myth. Undoubtedly, each artist will leave you dreaming of mythos...
