
Beats Contest: Mystery Sample Pack

Have you ever wondered how your favorite songs are made? Are you interested in music production? Whether you are a seasoned aspiring music producer or just wanting to try something new while social distancing, this challenge is just for you!
Participants will download a folder of ten samples ranging from percussion/instrumental pieces to odd sound effects. With these, they will make a song or beat utilizing (but not limited to) as many of the ten samples as they can.
Lastly participants will submit a 30 second - 1 minute demo of their creation! Winners will receive a Masterclass.

We recently created a discord for UMN student music which has a channel devoted to this contest. Feel free to join and chat with other participants. One of our team members is also planning to do a walkthrough on how to work with the samples if there is enough interest.
