
Join the Student Events and Entertainment Team¶
We have several different positions available for students interested in joining the Student Events and Entertainment Team. Applications open in fall semester each year. We aim to have a Student Events and Entertainment Team that reflects the student body, including students from different colleges, backgrounds, and interests.
By joining the Student Events and Entertainment Team, students are given the opportunity to develop critical thinking, problem solving, leadership, professionalism, global and intercultural fluency, project and event management, budget management skills, as well as the Student Development Outcomes.

Coordinator (Event Planning or Marketing)
Student Events and Entertainment Coordinators are responsible for planning and executing the Student Events and Entertainment Showcase, Homecoming, and Spring Jam™. We have four student Coordinators, one of which specializes in marketing. The Coordinator positions are paid hourly and are a three semester commitment. Event Planning Coordinators focus on planning events, negotiating contracts, communicating with vendors and campus partners, and researching market trends. The Marketing Coordinator focuses on promoting events through the creation of social media campaigns, pop-up promotional events, and creating and implementing marketing strategies.
Event Planner
Student Events and Entertainment Event Planners work on one of our four teams (Arts & Culture, Gamerooms, Music, and Social Events) to plan events on campus. The Event Planner position is paid via stipend and is a three semester commitment. Student Event Planners gain experience in contracting, market trend research, volunteer management, and professional communication.
Street Team
The Street Team is a group of students that volunteer their time to promote and facilitate Student Unions & Activities events. Street Team members are compensated with perks including free food, Gopher Gold™, tickets to Spring Jam™, and more. If you are interested in joining the Street Team, submit interest now!
