Description
The Student Homecoming Coordinators are are part of Student Unions & Activities (SUA) Student Events and Entertainment (SEE) team. The Homecoming Coordinators are responsible for planning and executing specific assigned Homecoming initiatives and events (including Royalty Court, Junior Royalty, Event Volunteers, Parade, Coloring Contest, and Blood Drives).
The Student Homecoming Coordinators must be able to separate affiliation from involvement with any student organization, Greek chapter, or residence hall while representing SUA Student Events and Entertainment as a means to promote inclusive programming and decision making.
Student Unions & Activities considers the Student Homecoming Coordinator to be an advanced level position.
Requirements
- Current U of MN - Twin Cities degree-seeking student Student Employment Eligibility
- Available 15-20 hours a week during the academic year and 30 hours a week during the summer
- Time management, organizational, customer service, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and solve problems independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Google Applications Suite
- Ability to receive and delegate tasks

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior work in a team-focused atmosphere
- Prior event programming and/or event coordination experience
- Completed at least two semesters of coursework at the university/college level
- Past involvement with Student Events and Entertainment and/or Student Unions and Activities
Notes for This Posting
The successful applicant will be available 15-20 hours a week during the academic year and up to 30 hours over the summer. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm
Summer 2022
- Work up to 30 hours, (during business hours). Some hours may be works remotely - location to be determined in collaboration with position supervisor.
- Weekly check-ins with supervisor and team
Welcome Week 2022 : August 31 –September 5, 2022
- Events including Pride & Spirit and Student Events and Entertainment Events Showcase.
Fall 2022
- Work 15-20 hours per week during office during business hours. Work hours and location to be determined in collaboration with position supervisor
- Advisor, team, and departmental meetings as assigned
Homecoming 2022: September 25 –October 1, 2022
- Execution of assigned Homecoming events. Additional hours anticipated.
Restrictions
- You must be able to work for the Fall, Summer.
- You must be able to work 4 shifts per week.
