Requirements

  • Current UMN-TC degree seeking student. See Am I eligible for a student job?
  • Understanding of introductory video and/or photography principles and editing
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on deadline
  • Ability to pitch and execute creative ideas
  • Experience using relevant software - e.g. Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.) google Suite, MS Office; social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, Snapchat, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Majoring in Art, Photography, Journalism, Cinema & Media Culture, Communications or other relevant study.
  • Experience expressing ideas through visual media
  • Preference given to candidates with experience in both photography & videography, however not required to have both

Notes for This Posting

This position will be filled in mid August for work over the 2024/2025 academic year.

This Visual Media Assistant position will work with the Student Unions & Activities Marketing Department.

Position may require some evenings and weekends for event coverage

Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5pm, plus occasional evenings and weekends. Working hours vary, up to 20 hours per week. The position requires availability of two to four days per week for a shift of at least 2 hours.
