The Coffman Memorial Union (CMU) Building & Events Manager's responsibilities include: following opening and closing procedures of the building, coordinating event logistics as detailed by the client(s), handling cash, overseeing building security and safety expectations, and providing leadership for regular tasks during evenings and weekends, assisting in the supervision of CMU Event Services Team members.

This position requires the successful completion of a background check.

  • Minimum 1 semester completed at UMN- Twin Cities Campus
  • Motivated to work independently and in teams
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and solve problems independently
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year or more lead worker or supervisory experience
  • Familiar with cleaning equipment, and proper usage of cleaning materials and chemicals.
  • Previous event planning and/or coordinating experience
  • Adaptable to new software and technology (space management software)

Notes for This Posting

Coffman Memorial Union Student Building Managers work a variety of shifts; The minimum shift length is 5 hours. Undergrads with sophomore, junior, or senior standing are preferred. Applicants must be able to work 2-5 shifts per week.

Shifts are available

  • Monday thru Friday: 5:00pm to 11:30pm
  • Saturdays: 7:30am to 9:30pm

Successful passing of a background check is required.
