The Saint Paul Student Center (SPSC) Postal Station Student Manager serves as the first point of contact for up to 5 Student Customer Service Associates, CSAs, and is responsible for providing leadership through supervision and coaching. Student Managers are responsible for inventory management, assisting with project development and implementation, supervisory duties, postal duties and other administrative tasks.

Student Managers are expected to be available to be scheduled 12 to 20 hours per week during the academic year.

  • Current UMN-TC degree seeking student. See student employment eligibility
  • Knowledge of Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses.
  • Ability to properly handle money and transactions.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and organizational skills.
  • Established leadership skills - ability to commit to a purpose/goal and strive to achieve it with coworkers.
  • Successful completion of a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current or previous Student Unions & Activities Retail work experience.
  • Previous leadership skills in a customer service environment
  • Knowledge of SUA programs and facilities.

Notes for This Posting

Current SUA employees and candidates with Post Office experience are preferred.

Applicants must expect to be available and eligible to work this summer through next spring..

The Student Manager works approximately three to four shifts a week for a total of 12-20 hours per week. Shifts last from 2 to 8 hours.

The shifts will vary but will fall between 8:30am - 5:30 pm, Mondays - Fridays.

*The manager hopes to complete hiring by May 11, 2022
