Essential Functions:
Welcome Desk Assistants primarily provide assistance with specific departmental building services. Building services may include flier posting, donation bin rental, distribution of student group resources, lost and found, wheelchair access, lockers, and lactation pod access. Assistants will utilize customer service skills to support students and patrons who are asking questions about campus, services, or where to find events and information. Assistants will also support and provide recommendations for additional promotions, practices that create a sense of belonging through inclusion, resources on campus that are of benefit to students, and adding to our departmental support based on questions/needs that arise from students and patrons. They are also knowledgeable about general opportunities for University students to get involved such as jobs, student groups, research, or other means.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- 70% Utilize customer-service skills to support general building services such as lost and found, providing directions to campus/building locations, answering questions, etc.
- 20% Collaborating with other employees on various projects and support methods, as assigned
- 10% Assisting other student staff as needed to ensure timely customer service is provided
