Title: Student Manager with Gopher Express West

Level: Intermediate

Essential Functions:

The primary role of the Gopher Express West (GEW) Student Managers is to serve as the first point of contact for approximately 14 Customer Service Associates (CSAs); the GEW Student Managers provide leadership through supervisor and training; they assist in managing the condition of the facilities, providing customer service, assisting in inventory management, and other mid-level administrative tasks.

  • 30% Supervision of Customer Service Associates: Develop and schedule employee training programs, manuals, and materials; assign and monitor tasks, duties and responsibilities; coach on proper work behaviors and expectations, maintain appropriate coaching records and follow up with management on chronic or critical performance issues; write and perform Performance Development Process; update area internal website and other communication resources.
  • 20% Inventory Management: Orders merchandise and supplies, monitors and tracks inventory levels, runs sales reports, performs audits.
  • 20% Administrative Duties: Assists in marketing efforts, research and develop new initiatives and products; processing daily cash deposits, maintaining spreadsheets and inputs invoices
  • 15% Monitoring Facility Conditions: Reports facility issues (including but not limited to food service equipment, fixtures, and lighting); POS/cash register systems updating, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • 15% Other Duties: Completes special projects or tasks; attends regularly scheduled management meetings; communicates issues, changes, and concerns to management; cover employee breaks and shifts when needed.
