Each event features interviews, unique performances, photos, video, and Q & A from the live audience. Archives of past Making Music guests, including Andrew Bird, POS, , Dessa, Slug (Atmosphere), Jeremy Messersmith and David Longstreth (Dirty Projectors) can be seen on our Whole Music Club YouTube Channel (External Link.) and our Flickr page (External Link.), and questions for guests can be submitted on our Facebook page (External Link.).

Alpha Consumer

Thursday, February 16 at 8pm

Alpha ConsumerMinneapolis supergroup Alpha Consumer stands on the verge of a huge breakthough as they prepare to release their fourth full-length CD in 2012 – the trouble is finding a time when they’re all in the same city! Bassist Mike Lewis plays with Bon Iver and GAYNGS, Guitarist Jeremy Ylvisaker plays with Andrew Bird, The Cloak Ox, and Gramma’s Boyfriend, and drummer JT Bates plays with The Pines. But somehow, they found a break in their various touring schedules to kick off Making Music’s 15th season – right between Bon Iver’s appearances on Saturday Night Live and the Grammys, and Andrew Bird’s spring tour. Don’t miss this rare chance to hear them live and talk about their approach to rocking out.

Peter Pisano (Peter Wolf Crier)

Thursday, March 1 at 8pm

Peter Wolf CrierPeter Pisano started Peter Wolf Crier with drummer Brian Moen on a lark. Two successful albums later, including 2011’s “Garden of Arms,” Peter Wolf Crier has earned a prominent spot among good company on the Jagjaguwar record label, where labelmates include Bon Iver, Dinosaur Jr., and Sharon Van Etten. Pisano will discuss his musical influences, the distinctions between his two PWC releases, and inspiration for their uniquely melancholic and eerie sound.
