Description

Custodians assist in the general cleaning of offices, meeting rooms, restrooms, lounges, etc. In the winter months, the custodial crews keep SPSC walkways, stairways, and entrances clear of snow. Custodians provide setups of tables and chairs for special events and meetings. Student custodians will use commercial cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment on a regular basis.

Requirements

  • Must work from oral and written instructions given by supervisors
  • Motivated and driven individual who can seek out tasks and work both independently and as a team
  • General knowledge of commercial cleaning methods
  • Working knowledge of cleaning equipment and proper usage of cleaning materials and chemicals-proper training will be provided
  • Must work from oral and written instructions given by supervisors

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous cleaning experience

Notes for This Posting

This SUA Facilities job is a Student Custodial position based at the St Paul Student Center. Applicants must be able to work at least three of the listed shifts during the Fall Semester. These shifts include Monday: 8am-10am; Tuesday: 8am-10am, 2:30pm-5:30pm; Wednesday: 8am-10am, 2:30pm-5:30pm; and Thursday: 2:30pm-5:30pm.

Restrictions

  1. You must be able to work for the Fall Semester or Full Year.
  2. You must be able to work 6-20 hours per week.
  3. You must be able to work 3 shifts per week.
  4. Your application will be preferred if you are able to work the following shifts:
    • Monday 8:00am — Monday 10:00am
    • Tuesday 8:00am — Tuesday 10:00am
    • Tuesday 2:30pm — Thursday 5:30pm
    • Wednesday 2:30pm — Thursday 5:30pm
    • Wednesday 8:00am — Wednesday 10:00am
    • Thursday 8:00am — Thursday 10:00am
    • Thursday 2:30pm — Tuesday 5:30pm
