2012 President's Student Leadership and Service Award

Judging Criteria

The selection committee will base its award decisions on the following criteria:

  1. Activities mentioned in the essays must take place between January 1, 2011 and
    December 31, 2011.
  2. Essays include thorough detail regarding the student’s accomplishments & contributions.
  3. Essays give clear examples of ways in which the student’s leadership strengths were demonstrated.

The information provided clearly communicates the student’s leadership and service experiences, both through formal leadership positions and informal engagement opportunities. It further demonstrates how the engagement experiences have affected the student's growth and development related to the University's student development outcomes, which were created to describe the critical elements of the student experience. The nomination should reflect the student's development related to UP TO THREE of the student development outcomes (External Link.), as defined by the University of Minnesota.

Awards Process

  1. All nomination materials should be submitted online by Friday, January 27, 2012.
  2. The PSLSA Selection Committee will meet to decide recipients: February 20-24, 2012.
  3. Recipient Notification: March 5-9, 2012
  4. Awards presented at the President's Award Banquet on Monday, April 30, 2012.
