Student Unions & Activities is staffed with advisors, experienced in all areas of student activities and leadership development. We are here to provide an opportunity for students to learn and develop skills in a safe environment that complements their academic experience and enriches campus life through their involvement in student groups. Our ultimate goal is student group success. We define this success as an educational and impactful experience for group members.
Student Group Advising
Student Unions & Activities provides advising services for all registered student groups. Advising is available in the areas of:

Advising Appointments
An advisor can help you with questions about registration, insurance, event planning, student group policies, permits, grant applications and more. You can contact an advisor by phone at (612) 626-6919 or via email at sao@umn.edu.
At Coffman Memorial Union
Student Activities is located on the first floor of Coffman Union, CMU 126. We are open from 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. We do our best to be available to answer walk-in questions, but if you’d like to make sure an advisor is available to meet with you, we encourage you to schedule an appointment ahead of time. If you’d like to schedule an appointment, our appointment hours are Monday-Friday from 1:00pm - 5:00pm.
At the St. Paul Student Center
Throughout the semester, advising will also be offered (by appointment) in the St. Paul Student Center. St. Paul Student Center appointments take place in room 42 on the lower level.
