Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) is an advanced cultivation system of mind, body and spirit based on ancient wisdom. Since its introductioon to the public by Teacher Li Hongzhi in 1992, Falun Dafa has helped millions of practitioners to improve their physical as well as mental health. The purpose of our group is to help students understand what Falun Gong is and how to cultivate themselves so as to have healthy bodies and minds.
Group's principal activities, events, or programs:
Introductory lessons in Falun Dafa principles, including physical exercises and principle teachings.
Educate and provide first hand resources of the current persecution of Falun Dafa.
We will help orientate an art exhibition and a film screening.
How this group's activities benefit the University community:
Our group introduces Falun Dafa, a way of self cultivation from Chinese traditional culture, based on truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance. We also promote an attitude of activism against injustice, specifically the persecution of Falun Dafa.
How this group fits into its categories:
Falun Dafa, comes from China, and is based on ancient traditional Chinese culture of cultivation of mind and body. Unfortunately it has been severely persecuted in China since 1999 so we hope to educate people on campus about this persecution and promote an end to this violation of human rights.
How to get involved with this group:
They can contact any of the Friends of Falun Dafa member in the group through email.
