The biggest club on campus is dedicated to providing students with an environment suitable for meeting new people with similar interests, getting discounts for local lift passes, shops and trips out west, and great events.
Group's principal activities, events, or programs:
The biggest (and coolest) club on campus will get you the best gear at the best prices, get you to the best resorts the Rocky Mountains have to offer for cheap, get you on the slopes around the cities for cheap, and you will meet the best people the U has to offer. For cheap.
How this group's activities benefit the University community:
We give skiers and snowboarders a place to vent their frustrations at having gone to school in the Midwest, i.e. not around mountains, as well as a place to meet new people and form lasting friendships with others who have similar interests.
How this group fits into its categories:
Well, skiing and snowboarding are sports. They are also considered forms of recreation.
How to get involved with this group:
During Fall and Spring semesters, we hold meetings most Wednesdays at 9:00pm. Find us on Facebook at SSC UMN or Twitter (@sscumn) for more info on where the weekly meetings are held, and be sure to sign up for the e-mail list so you can get any and all important information! $20 for dues to join the club goes to mesa pizza and pop at the weekly meetings, a rad SSC t-shirt, and invitations to all awesome SSC social events/gatherings.
