About this Group

Group Description
It is the goal of the University of Minnesota Law School, Student Chapter to meet the following objectives: To provide an opportunity for students to meet and work together with other students on issues of social justice and public interest law. To raise awareness and to create discussion within the law school community about current issues of social justice. To offer University of Minnesota students the opportunity to become acquainted with, and serve alongside, professionals within the community working in the area of public interest law. To offer short-term volunteer opportunities as both an alternative to, and in addition to, the longer-term volunteer opportunities that are available through the Minnesota Justice Foundation State Board. To provide students with funding for summer clerkships in public interest law.
Group's principal activities, events, or programs:

How this group fits into its categories:
We work to give law students exposure to the legal field through invited speakers to supplement their learning. We also raise money to provide students with an opportunity to work at a public interest organization over the summer.
How to get involved with this group:
Meeting will be scheduled and advertised to the school. Membership is free
