About this Group

Group Description
International Youth and Students for Social Equality (IYSSE) is a political organization with the goal of fostering discussion of current and historical events from a left-wing perspective. IYSSE is opposed to current conditions of social inequality, war, budget cuts, and the abrogation of democratic rights. Only by uniting working people internationally can these evils be successfully combatted. IYSSE believes that housing, healthcare, education, and fair employment are basic human rights that should not be denied to any human being on the basis of class. IYSSE opposes US imperialism in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Pakistan and elsewhere on the basis that these wars have resulted in the unnecessary deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians and US and US-affiliated soldiers. IYSSE will hold informational meetings, movie showings, campaign events, and debates in the hopes of encouraging students to put current political and social conditions in an appropriate historical perspective.
