About this Group

Group Description
A student-lead tap ensemble whose mission is to provide an educational opportunity not currently offered by the University of Minnesota and to promote a cultural and historical awareness of a truly American art form.
Group's principal activities, events, or programs:
1) Weekly Rehearsals 2) Performance Opportunities 3) Guest Artist Classes 4) Community Outreach
How this group's activities benefit the University community:
We provide an educational opportunity not currently offered by the University of Minnesota and benefit the University community by promoting a cultural and historical awareness of one of very few truly American art forms.
How this group fits into its categories:
MinnesoTap fits into both Fine Arts and Recreational Sports because we allow our members the opportunity to perform, but without obligation. Tap is a form of artistic expression and also a great form of exercise. We are also a performance group because we willingly accept any opportunity to perform!
How to get involved with this group:
People can get involved by joining the MinnesoTap Facebook group, through the tap classes offered here at the University, or by contacting the officers. Send us an email at minntap@umn.edu for more information about rehearsals and performances!
