About this Group

Group Description
Housing Organization for University Students at the University of Minnesota is a student run organization dedicated to expanding housing studies majors' perspectives of the housing field, creating social contacts between professionals and students, and ensuring a place for students to come together for the purpose of education and completion of the housing studies program.
Group's principal activities, events, or programs:
Our principle activities are learning about careers within the diverse area of housing and engaging in learning activities outside of the classroom.
How this group's activities benefit the University community:
Our activities benefit the University because we are exploring a very important aspect of all our lives, housing. Housing is needed for a prosperous life. With more individuals have knowledge of the complexes of housing we will all have better neighborhoods and communities.
How this group fits into its categories:
HOUS is an academic and educational organization because our goal is to enhance the education we receive from the classroom. We also strive to make good connections between professionals in the working world and students. HOUS is a service organization because each semester we try to participate in at least one outreach/volunteer activity.
