Artists Breck Hickman, Meagan Marsh, Aaron Chung, and Tarah Sondeland use human forms as a vessel for creative expression. Each individual uniquely employs different mediums to explore and go beyond what many may see as the typical living figure.
Breck Hickman forcibly addresses bodily maintenance and transhumanism through the creation of painting and “painting-like” objects. Meagan Marsh challenges the way the female figure has been portrayed historically and its relationship to the concept of nature.
Aaron Chung explores the idea of our bodies being a permanent place in which people must live their everyday lives, and the challenges that are associated with that.
Tarah Sondeland uses sculptures and paintings to represent the symbiotic relationships with nature and bodily figures, while also presenting precariousness for the future of our global system.
